Scott brings a founder's institutional knowledge to the board. Scott earned his B.A. in Social Science and a M.A. in Education Administration from California State University, Stanislaus. He taught American government, economics, and U.S. history and served as department chair, before moving to administration as assistant principal at Stagg High School and principal at Franklin High School.

Scott expanded the district's IB Diploma Program at Franklin to include more underrepresented students. He brought his vision for increased equity and access for traditionally underserved students to fuller realization by establishing Stockton Collegiate International Schools, charter schools focused on providing an IB K-12 education to Stockton students.

Scott retired after a three decade career in education and continues his commitment to education for the Stockton students as a board member.
