The Middle Years Program (MYP) is a five year program for students ages 11-16. At Stockton Collegiate the MYP years are grades six through ten. MYP is designed to provide a broad and balanced education for all students. Students who complete the MYP are well-prepared to undertake the Diploma Program.(www.ibo.org)
MYP students have courses in each of eight subject areas each year: Arts, Design, Mathematics, Individuals and society, Language and literature, Language acquisition, Physical & Health Education, and Science. At Stockton Collegiate: Arts courses include Choir, Jazz Band, Speech and Drama, and Visual Arts. Spanish is the additional language in the five MYP years. Science courses are Earth, Life, and Physical Sciences in 6th through 8th grades and Biology and Chemistry in 9th and 10th grades. At Stockton Collegiate classes meet on an A/B day schedule of 95 minute periods so a student has four classes each day.
