Before you start - Review the Final Grade Challenge Prezi to help you make sure you understand and approach final grades appropriately.
For the fall semester: You’re looking for growth or trends over time for the first semester only. For the spring semester: You’re looking for growth or trends over time for the ENTIRE school year.
Complete your grades on Managebac under "Submit Term Grades." Make sure you are in the correct semester before entering in your data (this is especially important for semester 1).
Utilize the MYP General Grade Descriptors to help you undestand what the levels signify for the final 1-7 grades. I recommend using the raw score to IB grade chart to determine letter grades: 7 = A = 32, 31, 30, 29, 28 6 = A- = 27, 26, 25, 24 5 = B+ = 23, 22 5 = B = 21, 20, 19 4 = B- = 18, 17 4 = C+ = 16, 15 3 = C = 14, 13 3 = C- = 12, 11, 10 2 = D+ = 9, 8 2 = D = 7, 6 1 = D- = 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
You might also consider leaving comments on report cards. This document is to help you leave quick and easy stock comments for report cards on Managebac (this is the only report families will see).
Once your grades and comments are done, click the "Export Term Grades" link to "lock" and submit your grades. These are the grades for report cards. You are done with step one! If you make any changes, you will need to click “Export Term Grades” again to confirm your changes.
Print a copy of your excel sheet and submit a copy of all your final grades to the appropriate coordinator. You can use computers in Design or in the front office to complete this step as it may not work on your iPad.
Now, transition to PowerSchool to enter letter grades.
Login to PowerSchool (Or use one of the school desktops, laptops, or a personal laptop/desktop)
Click on "Final grades."
Click on each student, click manual override, click the appropriate final grade, and move on to do the same for each student.
When you get to the last student you might want to click back over to an early student to make sure their grade is locked in.
Then you're done! All grades for transcripts are entered on PowerSchool.
